Annie's thread- Five puppies! LOTS of PICS on page 10!

Took her out for a pee. She had a long string of mucus come out as well. Hopefully that means we are moving right along with the whole process. She is getting some loving from DH now. I am going to go lay on the floor, cause A. Im tired, and B. She might go lay with me.

Will update you if anything happens.

Not withholding food from her, she just hasn't wanted to eat her normal rations. So I made up something extra for her. She also had a couple pieces of steak with me. I made up the special stuff for her so she would eat something to help keep her strength up. Also on a breeder forum I am a member of they said the cottage cheese is good because of the calcium in it.

I have heard that about the food too, but others say the opposite, that they ate right up to birthing pups. We will just have to see.

It will be a LOOOOONG night for you. Do you know how many pups are in there?
I usually have mine X-rayed at 50 days so I know how many to expect.

Lily never threw up for either litter that she had. She had a decreased appetite but no puking. Her last litter though she didn't want to drink the next day and that freaked us out. Took her to the vet, but she was fine. We gave her some clear broth to get her drinking again.

She went out again maybe 5-10 minutes later, and peed again, again with mucus, then she pooed, orange and soft, but not runny, then went trying to dig everywhere. Brought her in and she spent a good ten minutes tearing up the stuff in her whelping box before laying down, she is now sleeping deeply again. At 7:30 she jumped up looked at her rear, then laid down and went back to sleep again right away. she has been sleeping since. I will update you as any thing new happens. DH is driving me nuts, saying "No puppies tonight." Im like SHUT UP WE WILL HAVE PUPPIES TONIGHT! lol

Yep. She is going to do that all night long. Up/down/up/down. This is where you will loose sleep.

I suspect you will have your first pup around 4-5am.

I haven't read through the whole thread - but I was curious to what your weather is like? The horses here like to give birth during/before a thunder storm

Good luck! I can't wait to see yer pups.

Nothing yet, but I think we are close, we have been having lots of panting, pacing and nest building, she has been begging to go outside for a while i finally gave in and took her with a towel and flashlight (because the last time she was out , around ten, she pooped and then kept straining till i shooed her back inside) it is cold windy and raining, lightning and thunder, she made a beeline for the basement window well and I ended up having to pick her up and carry her back inside. We moved her pool back under the table as she seems to want dark and quiet. She did more digging, lots of panting. Has been low whining not a real whine but like a sigh whine, in rhythm with her panting. Well I could of made it through the night at work if I had gone, but oh well, not sure if I will go tomorrow or not, depends on how late I am up tonight I suppose. She is laying down now, panting a lot, still haven't seen a contraction but with the shivering I am not sure I would see it.

Will keep you all update, so worried, and excited, hoping for a puppy soon!
