I find that statement very sad too. I'm not opposed to trying out this new system, but the people are BYC and our opinion should count.

Then try the new system, give it a fair chance, and THEN voice your opinion! Yes, people make up BYC but the admin CREATED IT for us to use. If they want to tweak it, more power to 'em!

This system could be way cooler than anyone realizes, but we have to give it a chance first!

I am sooooo tempted now to list the 6 millie eggs I collected yesterday just to 'break in' the new system MYSELF!

I think several of you are misinterpreting what Ann said. Her point about "no vote" is that there is no choice to go back to the way it was. This is the new system. Use it, test it and give us feedback on how we can make it better in support of our wonderful community. We are moving forward. We value your input, but if you haven't tried it, how can you know you don't like it. I don't think I can recall a time that Rob was ever close-minded to the membership opinions. Every one has a say and we want to hear it, but please give this system a try before you put it down. Our goals are to make things easier, for buyers and sellers, as well as more manageable from a staff perspective. We would prefer a hands off approach, and I'm sure you'd prefer if we didn't have to come into your sale thread as well. If something is not working well, then we will work on it if it is possible. Be assured that we want this to work well for everyone. If you have questions or recommendations on how it works, feel free to let any staff member know or post them here.

Hi Rob (or other moderating-type person)! I'm curious what happens if no one bids up to the reserve price on a BYC auction? Can I just say in the message what the *reserve is* and be done with it?
I'm not at all familiar with auctions. I probably should have listed my first as a buy-it-now, but if I don't try it --- I'll never figure it out

If no one bids up to your reserve price, it is up to you if you want to sell the item or not. The reserve protects the seller in getting the price they prefer. You are welcome to put your reserve in the body of the message if you want folks to know what it is.

Like Jody says, the community is Rob's first priority. Each and every time Rob has put something into place to better the community there has been a huge litany of complaints.

I for one like the idea of auctions. I don't know what some of my sale items are worth. I set my reserve of what I would HAVE to get out of the item and if it doesn't go over, no sale today. Oh well.

What about the people that have items for sale in their signature?

Or if you have alot of the same items for sale every month could you just add to your signature to "Check my website for Rooster Eggs" ??

All in all, even with alot of questions un-answered, I think it is great. Having the old selling system set up more like a craig's list system would have prevented this from happening. Then all the BS posts that went along with the sale posting would have been emails to the seller. The seller could then edit his/her post if they felt the question was relivent.
