That may be what the majority sell, but has anyone taken into consideration the minority? I would make a guess that it is the minority that have the most auctions.

However those that have the most auctions are most likely the ones that have the eggs ect... that people want!

I don't go blindly and follow at least not when I am given the option to voice my opinion and be heard.

I am hoping that BYC will continue to keep an open mind, listen to the people and make changes as necessary.

I am not saying that the new changes will be bad. I just think they can be better.

This coming from someone who has never sold one item on any internet site at all.

I have to say that i also dont like this change..and i dont even sell on here!
ONLY because i feel bad for everyone that has been BYC members for SO long and they are unhappy now.

I think the whole thing boils down to that people feel a bit slighted about it all. I see that alot of people would like more auctions allowed... And i dont think that its too much of them to ask if they are GFM and have been helping support BYC.
Also....alot of these sellers have brought alot of people to this site. AND they help to keep it fun and friendly..which makes people want to come here...which in turn makes them want to buy GFM and help support BYC.... (do you see what i'm trying to say?)
I think that some of these upset people feel slighted because they DO really care about BYC and they have given you alot of support..and so, maybe it wouldnt of hurt for you to really listen to what they want...

so..IMO..if the GFM crowd is asking for more allowed auctions, i think you should maybe listen to them. If at all possible.
I'm not saying up it ALOT..just a little... Maybe meet people half way, so to speak.
Again..i know my opinion is worthless and i dont even sell...i just hate to see my peeps upset. (including you Nifty)

I DO want to say that i do like the way the auction is set up though..it was pretty easy for me to figure out!..

I'm so confused! If everything has to be in the new format- why are the other sections still there? So many listings are being told to move, and then being locked. Does this mean the OP has to make a whole new listing?

Ah I forgot to mention that I really love the new selling format. It is very easy to read and understand.

Perhaps there could be a minimal charge for every auction over 10. Maybe even a different area for them to post the "extra" auctions at?

I would, as a buyer, be more than willing to have the minimal charge passed on to me.

It would be a good way to increase revenue for BYC (which is not a bad thing, we are getting huge and most likely need some $ to keep up)

Or, you could have different membership prices that allow for different amount of auctions. Perhaps both?

I don't know if there is anyway to keep the auctions from showing up in the "recent posts" and moving all the other subjects down so quickly.

If they could stand alone and those who want to look could just pop in, then that would be one objection down.

One last item. I would like to hear more info on the Golden Feather membership. I never really hear much about WHY, and I think that more people would subscribe if we did.

You could make it interesting too. Have some contests with a very small prize for Golden Feather Members only. Once a week or month depending on the prize and contest. That would make me want to hop on just for the fun.

There is nothing offensive with looking for funding. Business is business.

Everyone at BYC works very hard, and I want to thank you for that. We do appreciate your work.

Have you ever thought of having a section for "site improvement"?
Then members could give ideas of what they would like to see evolve. More ideas, more options.

Thanks for listening.

I like what your saying

I stepped away to take time to digest all of this...
and I think what would make me happy is to have a choice
auction or 'old' listing format

I don't want the time constraints, nor do I enjoy auctions or auction sites in general.. the whole rush of it all, not enough time to do research etc... plus potentially not getting an item I've spent time on trying to purchase ie. losing an auction. Having to relist items that haven't sold weekly now?... we're not selling junk.. we're selling chickens & eggs! They should be relisted until the right person comes along

again, I have sold lots from BYC ads a couple months old... it's been the best thing every to just post once & forget about it. When they sell, I mark it SOLD and a mod locks it.

So.. I vote for the CHOICE
auction or old format

People, there is no vote here. We want people to be happy here; the system is being set up because the old system became unmanageable. It's not to make money (for the vast majority here there's no charge at all), it's so that the mods, who volunteer here, can better manage the forum. It's a simple as that. Use the system, give feedback, but please, understand, it's a done deal.

I like the new format but not the limits on the auctions. I have only sold eggs like twice on the site but I come here all during the day just to see what someone is putting up for sale and the pictures of their stock. It has almost been 12 hours since hatching eggs were posted. Nothing new at all. That takes out a large part of my fun of coming here. I could always go to BST and find chicken pics. Ppl always post the best pics of their stock when they are trying to sell the eggs.

I am sure the 3 auctions were calculated using the 41,000 members but I just wonder did you take into account your regulars? I signed up for this forum back 2 or 3 years ago and then promptly forgot all about it. It was not until this spring I started coming here on a regular basiss. How many of those 41,000 members are like I was? If you lose the regulars and they quit posting and answering questions then you will lose a lot of this forum.

I do not think asking ppl to by the GFM membership to sell is too much but I do think the limit on auctions is too low.

Just my 2 cents,

Renee

There is a BIN, but you have to open the thread to see if it is BIN, unless the poster has the sense to list that in their title.
