fresh ground chicken feed sounds great to me. we buy our corn (for American Guinea Hogs) in bulk straight off of the farm. We just load it in 55 Gal drums in the bed of the pickup truck. When we get them home we use a heavy duty moving dolly and ATV ramps to off load the drums full of corn. Its a lot of work but we are getting the corn for less than half of buying it from the CO-OP in 50lb bags. I'd love to find a place to purchase chicken feed the same way. The only draw back to doing the corn this way is I have to buy 1000 lbs to get that price. (that's about three 55 gal durms full). This will last our piggies about 2 to 3 months. I'd have to get a heck of a lot more chickens to dispose of large quantities of feed in a reasonable time i think. 200 lbs lasts us a couple of months now.
