We have this girl we adopted and we're not sure what she is. All of the birds she came with are purebreds other than 1 EE. She has yellow soles (and nubby toes I dont know how she lost) and pretty eyes. She's the size of our buff orpingtons and full grown so I doubt she's a JG. Any ideas?

She is an Australorp x another purebred it seems. A true purebred Australorp should have gray feet with pinkish white soles.
Her face doesn't 100% resemble a Black Australorp either. Did the breeder or owner you purchased her from have any hens or roosters of different breeds?

I'm not positive where she originally came from. Most if their birds were from a hatchery mix. We have a couple of austrolorp and ribh is right, she doesnt have the same sheen. We got a whole bunch of different birds from them: orpingtons, barred rock, leghorn, favorelle, an EE, wynadotte, brahma, andalusian, and a barnvelder. ‍

She is probably a little older I would guess. There were mixed ages in the flock I took. And they didnt have any roos.
