Okay, so Id like to try using the machine to actually make the dough, and then put it in the pans to cook in the oven. So I assume I let the machine take the dough to the last rising. Do I just divide the dough, put each in a bread pan, and let the last rise be in the bread pan? Does it have to be in a warm place for the final rise? How do I actually bake the loaves? Thanks for all your help, this has been a lot of fun.

Yes, it can be done. Most bread machines have a "dough cycle", and it brings the dough right to the point where you can put it in a regular bread pan, make it rise one last time, then put it in your oven.

I have done that before, it works fine. A warm place helps it rise faster, but the dough should be warm enough to rise pretty quickly anyway. It's been so long since I've done it, I can't remember the oven temp or time, and I am not at home to look it up now. Can someone else chime in with that info?

Most bread recipes call for a 375 degree oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. Make sure you don't let it rise too long. It should rise to almost doubled in size. It should only take about 30-45 minutes, depending on how warm it is.

I use dough cycle and when it beeps, I take it out, make one big round piece and let it rest for 10~15 minutes.

If you are making one loaf, I devide it into two or three equal amount, roll them up, then tuck them in the greased pan, cover it loosely with saran wrap and let it raise till the dough won't spring back too much when you poke it gently.(but I put them in the oven after about 30 min regardless)
Brush it with egg and put it in the oven 360 degrees until it looks yummy

I personally prefer dinner rolls for everyday dinner for the family because it feels like less step

Oh- one more thing.
After you did everthing and ready to rise, I sometimes stick them in the fridge. It rise slowly in the low temp.
Next morning, I take it out of the fridge and go take shower.
After I'm done getting ready myself for the day, I sprinkle some brown sugar and small pieces of butter tucked in between and then the dough is ready to be set in the oven.

Happy baking

My machine makes 1 1/2 and 2 pound loaves. If I put in enough ingredients for a 2 pound loaves, does that equate to 2 loaves in a bread pan?

That would be my guess, but there are pans in different sizes.
I'd make larger amout of dough and would make a ball with the leftover dough that doesn't fit in the pan and stick them in the oven! lol

What kind of recipe are you using??

I bake bread every morning for our family...we dont' buy store bread at all anymore. We use our Kitchen aide mixer for the dough and it's SO easy. Turns out perfect every time...here is a link to directions if your interested.

This dough works to if you make it in your bread maker too

All you need to do really is use the kneed part of it and take it out before it starts cooking.
