Another broken leg post ☹️

Sadly the little gal did not make it. Lesson learned but sadly it can happen with fragile little legs and feet. I am hoping to avoid this from ever happening again but I know it can happen with any free ranger. Trying to learn all I can to be prepared in the event it ever happens again.

I wish I could say I should be used to it but it’s sad to see a perfect little life go to quick. I love my beautiful little friends.
Life has become precious to me, I’ve come too close to loosing my own and maybe that’s why I value it so much.
I used to avidly hunt, deer, grouse, small game & you name it. I lost the taste for that thrill of the hunt. I haven’t hunted in many years barring varmints and predators here recently. Paper targets are different!

I love all my sweeties! They are now a part of a 8 duck family although they’ve not yet met the big sisters and brother.

No pics posted. She did not make it. The leg was damaged enough that blood flow and circulation were a problem. I re-wrapped after 24 hrs but it was too late.
