Great craftsmanship! Love how you are so inventive, recycling those pallets. You deserve an award!

@ jBlaze - Ok so here is why this works. I remove the waterer from the wall, turn it upside down and use my hose to spray water into the reservoir, or tall side of the waterer. Then when I turn it back over the water creates a seal at the bottom, or where the Chickens drink from. This seal does not allow Air to flow up into the reservoir thus creating a suction effect and keeping the water from flowing out. The reservoir must be air tight, or else the water will drain out on it's own. As the Chickens drink the water the level at the low end will dip down just enough to allow a single air bubble to sneak into the reservoir and then a small amount of water moves down into the lower section sealing up the whole and once again creating the required suction. I hope that answers your question. Also you can find a lot of information within the forums about auto feeders and waters as well. That is where I got my inspiration to build this.

So I have updated my coop a bit.

Here you can see a little of the inside of the coop. I have two roosts in here, the one in the corner is the short roost and of course does not get used. LOL

This one is from the other side. You can see the tall roost and the nesting box under it. I use the top of the nesting box as a Poop board, the top of the nesting box is removable so I can clean it up real easy.

This is a picture of the inside of my run. I have added a roost in there and they seem to like it, but it may be a bit high so I may add another roost a bit lower to help the ladies get up there, but we will see.

Here is a good picture that helps break down the run and shows off "The Cave" at the far end. You can see the window under the hen house, that is where the cave is.

And of course the ladies!!! Got to have them in there! LOL

Well actually that was me. LOL I have not filled in that hole from when I created the run. LOL

Wow I am amazed at the topics I come across on here!

I have been working slowly on a coop, I will get some pics up on here as well as the other threads i've been talking about it on.

The entire idea was to use as little money as possible and recycle! So i had 4X4's some scrap lumber PVC lots of screws and nails and hardware...so I decided to make a coop of atleast 75% recycled material...the only thing I may have to buy is plyboard for my top/roofing areas and about half the chicken wire.

I picked up a dozen pallets today off the side of the road right before the rain got to them (the warehouse literally JUST put them out) and one of the things was one of those wood frame crates and its 5X5 which is about exactly the width of my coop...so I have the main frame of my coop for free and I just had to pick it up with the trailer! I love the fact that I ended up deciding today I was probably going to to go with panelish sides mainly made of pallet pieces and I ran across your coop.

Very neat.

Your coop...Is BEAUTIFUL. I love it, can't wait to see it painted. Mine is going to be white and barn red.
