Another dog post - with a final ring.

See, I love this one right here! I have a few people in mind, already....

Yeah, I'll give it a rest for awhile and work on some sort of arrangement with the canines. I have my suspicions on the culprits - I can rehome one of them and the other isn't long for this world, anyway. She's quite old and honestly, I find it hard to think she managed this. But she has a reputation of such things, which goes against her.
Alas, there are two other possibles, and they wont be going anywhere. In their case, its me or them, since they're Lori's "darlings."
But I'll eventually work something out - I've come too far to walk away.

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone and especially you, Gary. That was very kind to offer your rumpless birds.

I saw an electric fence intended for elephants the other day. I wonder how much it costs to run THAT thing?...

Youre kidding right? RIR's are like the best sort of wife - not real flashy, but really good to live with.

Ill take them any time... and just might before long.

come on Dave, cute little fuzzy butts.....

I used to have this great electic fence from when I had horses and breeding stallions...could knock you on your butt.

the "hounds from hell" will surely get new meanings to the word when they encounter that one.

Aww, I'm sorry. Hey, I can tell you, though, that hot-wire is a gift when dealing with dogs + chickens. And most dogs only have to hit it ONCE. I'm doing well so far--seven dogs, all with high prey drive, no chickens lost to them yet. But fences, fences, fences...and hot-wire.

I hope you're not a hollow shell for TOO long.

A Thai maid, huh? I wonder if I can sneak that one past Lori?

In the future it is hot wire all around. If I can figure out how to put it on me without zapping myself, then Ill do that, too. That will keep the mutts away.

Dave, in honor of the Olympics and in memory of your chickies, I think dog stew might be in order. I'm sure if you searched the internet you could find some dandy fine recipes. Sorry about your chickies....

Sorry about your chickens Dave.

If you feel like making the drive I set you up with some barred rock hens and a roo. You can choose from 1 1/2 y.o. laying adults or my week olds that just hatched.

You could make a family outing of it, take the family to nearby Six Flags for the day, then pick up the chickens on the way home.
