Another first egg, duck seemed to be in pain...

How’s the egg laying going now?
Katharina is laying one large elongated egg every day, Curiosity lays one small egg a day and yesterday I found this

But then had an accident (-> no good deed ever goes unpunished) and ended up in the hospital with a broken leg...
So the Duckies got their extra calcium today from my wife.
Are soft shelled eggs safe to eat? I wanted to bake waffles for my wife...

My girl was pacing and whining last night when I went into the coop. No egg yet, but I noticed her butt is lower to the ground.
Good luck! Katharina and Curiosity asked me to tell your Duck that indeed laying the first egg is painfull but it becomes easier with every egg. Katharina now just runs into the house, lays her egg and runs back out again.

I have always eaten mine. Just an egg already shelled.:celebrate

@WannaBeHillBilly you broke your leg? Oh my gosh what happened. Hope your home and getting pampered real good.

I have never eaten a soft shelled egg before usually my chickens get to it before I do. But I don't think I would seem bacteria could really get hold of it with out a shell.
