I can't put into words how happy I am. Any advise on how to protect him from the mean rooster or what to do about him?

Do you keep him in a pen? If so, I would put wiring over the top to keep him out.

Or you could spray him with your garden hose when you see him. If you do this a few times every time he gets in, He should stay out. But it all depends on the rooster.
