When my ladies molt they do A LOT of dust bathing and grooming, have you checked them really good around their vents and under their wings for mites?

Do it at night when they are roosting, they are much easier to manage. Any time I've had to give medication I do it at night, I think it's less stressful on everyone

Your younger birds probably need to have all flock or chick feed for a few more weeks until they are laying. Layer has 4 times the calcium that chick feed has, and it can damage kidneys in birds not laying.

The orange is intestinal lining. It cannbe normal occasionally, but if see often, along with those droppings, it may be from possible coccidiosis or worms. What dosage of Corid did you give the chickens? Valbazen dosage is 1/2 ml for a 4-6 pound hen, and the dose should be repeated once after 10 days.

I’m at tractor supply and my options s are 17 % all flock pellets and 20% Purina flock raiser crumbles. Which one?

Those are both about the same nutrition. The flock raiser has a little more protein, but nit a big deal. Depends on if they prefer pellets or crumbles.

I bought the crumbles even though they’d been eating pellets and they’re all eating it.
So any ideas for these sickly ones. Is it possible that the wormer and Corid has just “taken it out of them” and they need a bit to bounce back? I have rooster booster electrolytes, vitamins and lactobacillus-should I give that in the water? Something else?
I’m going to try to do a good skin inspection again this evening on as many as my son and I can catch

Good grief-managed to semi check out Wyandotte who seems to have thin neck feathers-they look broken but nothing looks buggy or eggy. Nothing suspicious around the vent. I’m going to check the two sick ones in the morning. I’m still seeing lots of poop in the yard that looks runny golden brown. I was told here last week it looked cecal but .
Still trying to figure out what else I can do for these girls-especially the two sick ones.

The worms and possible coccidia have probably taken it out of them, not the medicines. The electrolyte-vitamin-probiotic sounds good for a couple of days. No more than 5 since it may add to diarrhea. Or you can continue the Corid for a few more days at 1/3 the dose. If the sick birds are eating and drinking, they may be getting better. Cecal poops can be different colors, very shiny and sticky like pudding, and smell worse than normal droppings. They have them a few times a day, and cecal droppings are fermented droppings from the 2 ceca between the small and large intestines. Here are some pictures:

They look like this -there’s generally nothing solid in there, sometimes almost look bubbly

@Eggcessive or anyone else reading this-today I thought she seemed ok. She was walking around the tractor, pecking the ground, eating, drank some vitamin water…late afternoon returned her to the yard where she proceeded to mostly stand while everyone else did the normal chicken thing…no one was bothering her so I left her. I went out and left chicken care to the family and my son is now very concerned about her because he thinks she is having some difficulty walking and that when he sets her down, she kind of goes to her belly, then stands up. She is back alone in the crate but she did have some supplemental scrambled egg this evening.
I am a nervous wreck trying to figure out what to do for her and praying it’s not something serious they’ll all succumb to.
My thoughts go to deficiency? Recent Corid treatment plus having improperly been on layer feed plus being at or near the bottom of the pecking order.
But of course my mind also races at breakneck speed to mareks.
Any words of wisdom?
I actually take vitamin b2 and have it on hand. Is that something I should give instead of or in addition to her rooster booster vitamin/electrolyte water? If so, what is the dosage?
