Answer to the Delaware Dilemma

Does tail angle change? I think Oliver's tail angle has lowered some.

Anyway, I wanted to post this to show you his sickle feathers. Look at this, one big ol' black feather, and then the big white one!

Kathy, he is under a year old, so I should think he could still change- and that is a rather dramatic, dressy look, there Mr. Oliver! He still has that lovely bowl underline, though, yes he does!!!! It does look like the tail is lower, Kathy, it looks more sloping.

Has he got a hot date lined up or something?

I went to our local fair today and headed straight for the poultry section . . .

There were not any delawares on display

I spotted two speckled sussex and headed over to them . I noticed that one had scaly leg mites. Also, notice that a huge section of feathers were missing below the tail - - my guess mites or lice.

I was SHOCKED that this bird had been allowed to stay on display. The judging had already happened and it was sitting right next to the Black Jersey that took Best of Show. . .

How sad is that ? ? ? I was planning on having my children participate in 4-h and show their birds next year. I will have to re-think that.

You can click that!!

Anyone interested in the code to post it in a thread... PM me. I have another code to post it on a webpage too.

I think these 2 posts were overlooked. AND, they were overlooked by members of the newly founded Delaware Club. I apologize to you both. If you will PM me, or email me, I will see what I can do to help you obtain some Delawares.

Kathy, you are right -
I can ship eggs from NC if anyone is close enough to me to chance it -
Here is my new roo and some of my girls, so you can see. I do NOT have any of his kids on the ground, but if anyone wants to take the chance -

I don't see high tail angles change, but it appears it did with this boy. That is a very good tail angle for a male
No Dels at the show I just attended, but there was an awesome light Sussex male there..
