Antibiotics Question

Thank you @casportpony and @seminolewind, that clears things up! Seminolewind, you mentioned supportive care? What would that entail?

It's strange, because I just visited my hen and she appeared completely healthy and normal. But I'm willing to bet that tonight she'll be sniffling again! Does anyone know why that is? Should I continue on the duramycin after all for a few days?

The coop she usually resides in isn't that dusty I don't think... But the run is all dirt, so that might be dusty I suppose. But she hasn't been in there in a week. When she got sick I started keeping her in a dog crate with pine shavings in the basement at night, and in a different outside enclosure during the day

When I notice that one of mine is "off", for whatever reason, I get a baseline weight on it, then weigh every few days at the same time in the morning. Any weight loss is a sign that the bird is getting sicker. For weighing birds under 11 pounds I use a digital kitchen scale.

Here are the test results of a peachick that had a respiratory infection. Drugs that would have worked to treat this bird have an S by them, ones that would never work have an R.

Edited to add:
Not my peachick.

Thanks! Another thing I noticed, is she is losing her feathers. There aren't any bare patches on her, but I think she might be molting (she hasn't done this yet). Also, whenever she preens she starts sounding really stuffy and has to sneeze to clear it up

Hi. By supportive care I mean just doing things to help her feel better while you wait out the virus.

Oh okay, thanks! I'm going to just try the tylan 50 orally tomorrow because that is what I have on hand. I've never done this before, so what is the best way to do this? I have a 1 cc syringe without a needle that I can use to dose her with. Do I just hold her wings down with my arms, firmly hold her head, pry open her beak with my fingers and squirt in 1/2 cc of the tylan 50 a little at a time into her mouth? Do I point the syringe horizontally across towards the left and just let her do the swallowing?
