PS-- she eats and drinks. She is aloof and does not jump up on the roost, but can hop on a lower log, at about 8-10" off the ground. She walks well too.

My neighbor puts antibiotic in her chickens water once a month, but the chickens aren't sick. I think this is wrong. do you have any information I could print out to give her to show her this is harmful? She doesn't have a computer or internet. It needs to be something other than an opinion, if you know what I mean. Please get back to me asap !

Hey guys! New to chickens and trying to figure out what is going on with my 10 week old Dominique Rooster. He has been withdrawn and sleeping a lot. Barely coming out of the coop to drink and maybe is eating a little. This is day 2 and I just noticed watery diarrhea from him. I have polyvisol w/out iron in the water and just put a seperate waterer with probiotics in there too. Should I treat with antibiotics? If so what kind? I am paranoid of Mareks because last week I lost a bantam because of weird neck and leg spams/paralysis. Not sure where I would have picked it up since all my birds are the same age and I've had them since they were a day old. Any help is appreciated!
I don't usually treat wounds like that with oral antibiotics, I just keep them clean and out the neosporin on them.

ChlortetracyclineWhat's wrong with giving tetracycline? I brought some new hens in and didn't properly quarantine, so didn't realize they were sick. Now I have several with respiratory problems, not eating, not drinking (way too hot for that) lethargic and they have poopy butt, watery stools. I have been adding tetra to their food along with yogurt and putting apple cider with the mother in the water. Showing signs of improvement, but it's so hot that complicates their recovery. My question is - Are the eggs safe to eat? If not, how long do I need to wait?
