anxiety attacks every time doctor prescribes steroid. Normal?

I have never had prednisone prescibed until a few weeks ago. I had the strangest sensation that poisin was dripping from my brain into my body. I felt miserable and cried every 5 minutes. I felt I had to give it an opportunity to do what it was supposed to which was address chronic pain in my knee. Anyway, it had no affect on my knee and made me feel lousy. I have heard horror stories of people committing suicide on it. I really have to wonder why they would prescribe such a nasty drug and I am a person who has no qualms about taking medications. A very nasty drug.

Satans tic tacs lol Im telling ya.
I have had to take it for sevre ashma , I mean we are talking I took preventive drugs but also had to use a nebulizer every 4 hours kind of bad. And I was a nervous wreck, jittery , jumpy , sad , emotional , irritable, coudnt concentrate or focus on anything , was always thirsty and hungry and must have gained like 10 pounds the week or so at a time I was usualy on it and that is just water ..

My little niece has had to take it for really bad ashma as well these and some other reasons are GOOD reasons to take it but in my opinion some DR hand it out a little to freely shure it helps with stuff but I have NEVER met a single person that took it that hasnt had pretty bad side effects and if you feel physically and mentaly and emotionally that bad takeings omething it cant really be that good for you even if its there to help you if you know what I mean.

I had a holy crap moment with my husband last night. We sorta talked over time lines and seriously I think I have been suffering various stuff due to this drug for a while. I am going to refuse this med for now on and I will deal with it naturally. Every time I go to the doctor I feel worse. I feel great when I stick to better eating and natural relief. Tired of this and can't wait for it all to work its way out of my body.

Talk to your doctor before going off your medication. Be honest with your self evaluation, and tell the doctor the changes you want to make. Find a doctor who wants to listen and help you reach your goal.

Yea I asked the Dr about it. She doesn't think its related but I do. I am still going with it being the meds. Its just too odd that it happens every time.

yes, if the doctor doesn't believe that it's related, it's time for a second opinion. It doesn't take any digging to find this as a side-effect for prednisone. It's at the top of the list "most common side effects" Anytime a doctor doesn't take your concerns seriously, it's time to start shopping for a new doctor.

Just dont quit cold turky if your on big doeses at the moment its extreamly bad for you. I would find another Dr and try other things though if your lungs are bad you may need it once in awhile or you could have major issues but yeah eating healthy and takeing care of your self and gettin rid of anything your allergic to is the best way .
