I think Goldie now has 5 chicks. There is still one egg, but I don't think it will hatch as she has pushed that one almost out now. I think I will now move her to better accommodation.

I'll take some more pics. when they are out and about

Goldie has 5 chicks, the sixth failed to hatch.

We moved her into a little pen today to make her a bit more secure. The first thing that happened was that some of the others though it would be good to use the pen to preen on and then she bought her chicks out. Here they are (sorry about the chicken wire!)

A very successful conclusion to a very dubious start.

Oh man, that's so great. It's hard to imagine getting chicks and having a momma chicken that'll watch over them.

What a beautiful area you have as well. Those buildings look so nice
