Thank you so much. I'm usually someone who always rescues. I did buy Grace and Frankie though. As much I want to rescue, I'm just so nervous with AI going around. We've decided to get 2 ducklings and slowly introduce them to Frankie. Poor Frankie spends so much time in front of her mirror. I didn't want to make this decision this fast, but it's breaking my heart to watch Frankie. And there was no way I could adopt her out.Quarantine with ducks doesn't have to be that long, in my research. I adopted Julep (big ol' Pekin) last year when her owners posted on Craigslist that someone needed to adopt her or they would kill her because she's so loud. We kept her separate for a week or so. It took her a couple of weeks to really integrate, but now she's doing great. And you can always have a vet examine the new duck, if that's an option.
Just my experience. Of course, you need to do what's best for you and Frankie. I just thought I'd mention this to give you more options.
I think she'll be happy again with friends. And I think everyone on this thread knows how lucky those two ducklings are. They just hit the duck mom jackpot!Thank you so much. You made me tear up, and it was nice to have happy tears amongst all the sad.I think she'll be happy again with friends. And I think everyone on this thread knows how lucky those two ducklings are. They just hit the duck mom jackpot!
I definitely will share photos and stories. I'm trying to be super excited about the new babies, but it'll take time through the pain of losing Grace. It'll take time for Frankie too, but eventually we'll be a happy flockOf course you know we need lots of pictures and stories about how Frenkie takes to them.
The new babies are a Rouen, and a Welsh Harlequin. My heart couldn't get CayugasOf course you know we need lots of pictures and stories about how Frenkie takes to them.
