This is kind of my process.
1. Choose a photo. Crop it to a square shape, then add grid lines. I do 6 squares on each side.
2. On the paper, draw a large (12” for me) square. Add grid lines. View attachment 3191131
3. Draw the basic outline using the reference photo. View attachment 3191134
4. Generally, I start at the upper left corner to prevent my hand smearing it. View attachment 3191138
5. Working one to a few squares at a time, work your way through. I draw, blend, then add extra details after every few squares. View attachment 3191141

I have this one. I've only ever used the tiny tips. Works amazingly on colored pencil.
I haven't touched traditional art in forever, but this is very interesting to me
I still sketch on occasion when I'm trying to visualize how I want to paint a piece or get a funky idea out of my head. I have the electric eraser and a couple of more tradtional rubber erasers in my pencil box. The electric works for harder leads, but not as well on softer ones, but the ol' pink pearl covers allI haven't touched traditional art in forever, but this is very interesting to me![]()
That bear is more beautiful than I could imagine, so I can see why it didn’t turn out how you imagined.Totally jinxed myself. You know the feeling when something doesn’t come out like you imagined? That was this.
