Any artists out there?

It is tricky. I usually need a reference photo or drawing. I‘ll then fill in shapes, and add the details afterwards.
I could attempt a step by step demonstration later if you’d like.
So, here’s my attempt. Left leg is a little wonky, but whatever. :D

This is was my reference.

I do a center line, following the body’s curvature.

Add the shapes as best you can.

Touch up the details (maybe add some arms), make sure it’s proportional.

Erase and darken lines.

Add shading.
Hope this helps.

Also did a wing study. I felt like I was drawing them without understanding them. View attachment 3195052
A duck wing!
I understood wing anatomy before drawing them due to poultry showmanship, which I felt gave me a leg up. For example, this is very pretty but won’t get you far in flight

Yeah, I followed the anatomy of an actual wing, as opposed to a fictional drawing, so it would be more accurate. To be honest, I had never bothered to study it before now.

I will probably use a wing that is made for looks rather than practibility when drawing, but I wanted to at least get the anatomy right.

That’s pretty cool that you show birds. What breed do you show?

Bantam Buckeyes and d’Anvers. I can name all the parts of the chicken wing upon sight: wing shoulder, primary coverts, bow, bar, secondaries, axial, primaries.
Alula, but I never point that out.

I love Buckeyes and d‘Anvers. :loveThey have got to be some of my favorites.

That’s pretty cool that you can name all those parts. I think I’m going to try and memorize them.

You judge shows too, right? Think I heard it from somewhere...
I suck at drawing realistic people, but references help.
Total opposite for me. I don't draw extremely realistic, but I also can't do simple. Totally jealous of those who can whip up something in just a few minutes. That's skill.
