Any artists out there?

I feel like I know the shape of the wings pretty well, it’s the feathers I have some trouble with. You know, being so many and in different layers and such.

I find it best to draw each of the “circles” of similar feathers. Drawing in the individual feathers is a breeze when you have marked out the exact distance to which they reach. Also, it is best to remember they overlap most of the way until the end.

Unless I am doing one of my realistic drawings, I just rough it based on this. I don't expect it to come out perfect

I know this isn't art, but it's something I've been putting effort into, and this makes me happy so I thought I'd share. I'm working on the AKC Trickdog titles and I'd like to collect them all. Moro is one trick away from his intermediate, today he mastered touch lamps. This is nice because now I can get him to light hallways for me, I just need to point at the light and he presses it.

I draw the loops where they should be, then I fill in the feathers.
