I have a whole stack of old notebooks of drawings stories and whatnot, they're called "reference books" cause they're non-canon relevant to the actual storyline, and as the name suggests, references.

I have eighty notebooks on my bookshelf, choc-filled with character designs and scenes. most of them from when I was younger.

ok, here's the first ever reference book. made it in 6th grade during quarantine (actually I think i started it the summer before then, hence the sudden change in style during part 2, cause I kinda ditched it for a couple months then got the motivation to continue). the fact that this little excuse for a book is a major starting point for the current excuse for a book series of mine

oh, the everything. i remember you. originally a google slideshow for 6th grade, during the pandemic. i literally did everything for this project, except for one or two characters with very minor roles.

As I’ve said, the source material of my novel is a graphic novel I made between the fifth and sixth grades. And the unfinished one I made after it.
And the source material for that graphic novel was my brother and I throwing sand at each other and calling it “red canaries” and “black canaries” for tan and black sand respectively.
