Any artists out there?

I need some help from the artists here. Let me explain.

I was at Deseret industries in Twin Falls, Idaho. I found some canvases there that appear to be hand painted. They also appear to be ripped off of a wood frame, so they were once stretched canvases. They are beautiful, so I bought them for four dollars total.

Being an artist myself, I can tell that these are hand painted. It feels like oil paint.

Anyway, I’m trying to figure out the artist. There is a signature, but I’m not finding much about this artist on the Internet.

Is someone able to help me figure out who the artist is?

Here are pictures of one canvas.

My expectations are low for this, I’m just curious if anybody knows about this artist.

Regards,

Jared.
Nice painting! Couldn't find an Idaho artist named R. Ashcraft. I'd be surprised if they're well known.

I don't know anything about this artist, but most likely this was a local artist. The canvases are probably off the frame for storage, so for all you know, this could have been done years ago. (I feel like removing the frame is a newer thing, but I'm not sure.) A date might be helpful.

I want to show you all an interesting piece of Japanese art in my cabinet.

This is called a kokeshi doll. My father got it in Japan in 1985 when he was on a church mission. It’s made of wood.

It’s a very interesting piece of art. In fact, it gave me some inspiration. I’m gonna try making some of these and painting them as an art project. Of course, it’s hard for me to carve wood without a lathe.

So, I am 3-D printing blank ones and deciding to paint them.

This is my most recent 3-D print.

It’s an interesting art project, I figured I would share it with you all.
