I am very upset, I am not even sure how to proceed. I'm especially livid that when I realized they would be shipped so close to a holiday weekend and called to ask if I needed to change the ship date or upgrade to a faster shipping method that I was told that they aren't allowed to ship live animals Express mail (which I have since found out is untrue), and that they were going out "2-day" and would definitely arrive on time. I thought that was a special category for live animals, so I believed them and dropped this issue.
I have a website & ship Priority mail, all the time. Sometimes it arrives in 2 days, sometimes 3, sometimes 4, it is not guaranteed at all. Tracking is only an extra fifty cents. I would have been happy to pay for tracking, I assumed it would be included for such a precious cargo (I never ship without it, and my items aren't perishable). If I had known they were shipping that way I would have never gone along with a Wednesday-before-the 4th weekend ship date.
If anyone reading this learns anything, I hope they get that they should ask questions before ordering live chicks re: shipping method & tracking. I wish I hadn't assumed that the hatchery would have that under control and well managed.
