Any docs/ideas for big scar healing? :D (GRAPHIC PIC :))...

I used Mederma also with great hopes but I have fair/sensitive skin and I have huge keloids

Mederma has worked wonders for others that I know though.

I would definitely try it!

LOL at my rate I'll be bride of frankenstein - massive nasty scar on my upper arm, scars on my hands and wrists from farm fun, scars on my face, both knees, and my belly looks like a battlefied. Oh yeah, ankle reconstruction too. I'm getting vain in my older age. I just don't want the 1" keloided nasty...a nice line is my liking!

I had 12 staples from my appendix, and it left a scar you would never notice if i didnt point it out. I freaked out when i found out i had them, because i wondered how they take them out

But it was nothing. You are quite the rough and tumble

I have had my share of accidents, but it sounds like you got me beat

Welcome to my life of unfortunate events

I'll give you one tip - if someone is using a pitchfork near you, don't take your eyes off them! You might find a nasty pitchfork through your wrist (it was an accident, really).

I just wear my battle scars proudly. (not litteraly battle scars, I was lucky)
I just had my 3rd knee replacement in May. Why worry about the scar. When asked about it you can give a different answer each time. Your parachute didn't open and you didn't tuck-n-roll properly when you landed, with parachute trailing in a wad. Have fun with it because the scar is there now.

Hee hee! I'll go with the Pamplona bulls route then!

I'm really hoping to avoid the knee replacement route, it's kinda funny because my bone and cartilage look fabulous, but NOTHING else works. All the ligaments and connective stuff is wrong, the bones are in the wrong places. Heck, I'm only 29, and on my 5th leg surgery. Time is not in my favor! Gotta love genetics and poor decisions

Finally got to let the chooks out today. Hubby helped me round them up after an hour. They were happy - I fed them some BOSS so they knew I wasn't scary with the metal crutches hanging by me

Sounds like mine. 3 knee replacements, 3 ACL reconstructs, multiple torn cartiledge, and more. I've quite literally lost count of the # of knee surgeries. (approx 15?) Doc now just writes "mulitiple" surgeries because it would take too long to search the 3 or 4 volumes of medical records. This time though seems to be the one. No longer "practicing" medicine. Doc has had all the practice he needs on me, now its fixed. Or seems to be 2.5 months out.
Pamplona!! I never thought of that one, yet.

I love the questionnaires that ask if you have broken a bone. I put "many". Been in the hospital? "Many." Surgery? "Many." When my GP recommended me to the latest and greatest surgeon, I watched as she went through the 4" of my recent files, and marked the pages to send, and then told me to try and recollect the months and years for the rest of the leg goods to send to the new doc. It was like a study session!

Sometimes nature just needs some surgical help putting the human body puzzle together

I was told to use Castrol oil mixed with Coco butter. Use it twice a day to keep the scar tissue soft. It was some pretty jagged tears and the sides didn't match up

The doctor said he could cut out the scar and restitch it and it would be invisible. Don't want to go through that whole healing thing again. People stare and ask too many questions.

I think I will try Mederma.

I ended up getting a reply back from the Montana Emu folks, and have ordered the 100% oil and the replenishing cream. I sent them pictures of my leg, and if I choose to use their products, as long as I don't have any bad effects, and send them pics to use, they will send me some more goodies for compensation!

The stuff looks really cool, and of course I'm geeked about freebies

The price was really reasonable too!
