Any experience with broody hens adopting chicks?

I have ordered 6 chicks from a hatchery to add to my flock of 6 hens, and estimated delivery is 3-4 weeks. We already have everything for a brooder but 3 of the older hens (all about a year old) have gone broody (even though we don't have a rooster so the eggs aren't fertilized), so I was considering seeing, if there is still a broody one or two when they arrive, if they might adopt the new chicks as their "hatchlings". Does anybody have experience with this and any advice/tips?

My bantam hen hatch one chick and i got 8 baby black sexlinks from TSC and she took them up and now she a happy mama ... it best to put them with the mama at night , but stay with her and the chicks for about 5-10 min. to make sure she will not peck them to death... good luck , Lizza
