Any Gamers Here?

Just watched season 17 of south park and it made me want to play the stick of truth and the fractured but whole all over again. I just love the Princess Kenny song. "It is Tuesday morning! Princess kenny dies again! Why again? Why so soon? Princess Kenny is so cute!" Its in japanese but that is the loose translation

PCMR checking in. Currently waiting for Cyberpunk 2077, which is fine, also waiting for stock to come in for an RTX3080 or an RX6800X I play all kinds of stuff, right now am playing through Skyrim again, W3 again, GTAV, Ark, Half life*, and a few other things.

This is my battlestation.

Everything looks very sparkly. Cant tell from the photo but is your tower liquid cooled? I always wanted one of those but the price...😥

The CPU has an AIO on it. GPU's do not. Doing a custom full loop in that case (NZXT H510 Elite) is doable but it would be crowded. There's really only room for a single 240mm rad in there so you lose out on efficiency of your loop if you start adding in the GPU's heat load as well. I also could not find a block for the GPU's since they're a custom PCB. Here's some closeups of the tower.

I always name my rigs, so this one is Tiamat.

Specs:
* R5 3600
* MSI X470 Gaming Pro Max
* 32 GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3200 CL16
* Corsair H100i Platinum SE 240mm AIO cooler
* 2x EVGA GTX 980 TI FTW 6gb
* Crucial 1TB NVME SSD
* Couple of Kingston 1TB SSD 2.5"
* Fat WD 5TB external (for backups)
* NZXT H510 Elite (in white)
* Corsair HX 1050 Modular Power Supply
* Asiahorse cable extenders
* Custom vinyl and backplates by me

Plans with this build are to replace the GPU's with something more modern and to changer out the cabling. I ordered all the stuff I need to build some custom sleeved extensions yesterday to tie it in to the purple and white theme.

With a wooden box for some vacuum or nixie tubes.
Blown tubes and LED lights. My office has a lot of steampunk influence. Even that gaming pad on my desk is steampunk airships and dragons. I build steam influenced lamps and furnishings too, so it's an... eclectic mix... of genres :) All of my USB thumb drives live in that box. Convenient storage.

Wow! That's a shiny rig. Must have been expensive. :O Mine's just a cheap gaming lappy, not a lot of room for a desktop here. Maybe when we move.

I guess it depends on what you consider "expensive" to be. It was about 1100 for all the new stuff (caveat is another 700 for a video card coming). I chose components that met my needs and were still at good "performance to budget" points. I did spend a bit more than necessary on the case, because this is a piece of desktop art and I wanted something a bit more flashy.

So if 1800 all in is expensive then yes (and I do not mean that to be dismissive or anything, We all have different views on what is expensive). In terms of custom PC's though it's fairly budget conscious. Just the parts for a full watercooling loop can run hundreds of dollars (USD), so I avoided that trap this time around. I also had not upgraded in 11 years, so I definitely got good value out of my last rig :)

I will 100% admit though, i REALLY want to build a Threadripper full water loop rig and wall mount it. My wife will kill me though if I drop 5 grand on another PC :)
