Any guesses? Is this barred rock a "he"?

Marans have white legs. Rocks have yellow.

So only the leg colour is different then? IS the barring and all colours the same??

these look just like my new chicks! I would be curious to know what others have to say about the sexing of all of them... Can you only tell by color, etc. with purebred chickens? I got mine from a farmer who said they were RIR and BR chicks, but I haveno idea how many times they have been cross bred.

Barring on BRs is supposed to be straight across, but you'd be hard pressed to find that in hatchery Rocks. Cuckoo means more like chevron shaped barring, less definite, "messier", if you will.
