The backstory...we had a RSL hide a nest from us, and we didn't find her until she'd been setting for a week, so we let her continue. However, at around day 14, a cold front was coming in with storms (this was late last October). We tried to move her and her nest to a more protected place, but she didn't want to set on her new nest. So I put the eggs in an incubator, and a week later the chicks in the pic below hatched. Most of the eggs looked like hers, but some of our other hens had contributed because one was green, which the hen above (Puffy) came from. At the time we had a BR roo and a Buff Orpington roo.
In the 2nd pic below, Puffy is staring at the camera. Of the 5 black chicks, 2 were cockerels and 3 were pullets. Puffy is the only one I can identify, lol.
