Any guesses on breed(s) of my colt?

Head and conformation, and statistical likelihoods in that region, are certainly consistant with him being an ASB. It should become clearer as he grows out. If he *is*, that's good, they are generally real nice sensible horses IME.

Congrats,

Pat

I would also go with Saddlebred. The head, neck, tail set, and leg stance say Saddlebred. Possible a NSH? More likely Saddlebred. Love the Saddlebreds. My first horse is one and he is 27 this year. He was 2 months old when my mom bought him, he is still king of the pasture.
Here is a picture of my old guy from last summer.

he looks mostly saddle bred with baby awkwardness added in. look at those legs and the way they set into the hind end. screams saddle bred to me. the neck and face are not as typy, but that could be baby awkwardness or perhaps a tiny bit of Tb blood in there I wonder.

I've thought TB too....I am liking the Saddlebred idea is gaining strength. Sets my mind at ease that so many have come to that conclusion. It's a roll of the dice sometimes with rescues.

There seems to be a lot of variety in Saddlebred height. I was working with one('Rodney', LOL) for a little while who was 14.3 at 7. There was one in the same barn that was 16.3, same blood line. If I can afford to be wrong twice in one day, I'll say I think there's an older 5 gaited type that is a little heavier and taller, and that a good many of the three gaited horses seem to be a little lighter and shorter.

As for him being a Tennesee Walker cross - there's an awful lot of various looks in that cross, but I have this idea of 'nope'.

Seeing him move and knowing his age, I feel less confident in the QH/Thb path.

Being a member of Trot.org and saddlebred rescue.. he moves JUST like a saddlebred.
I have one too.
He has a triangular rear end, and the tail set looks very much arab, so there is a good likely hood he is a NSH.
The LONG neck, and high leg action is that of a saddlebred
They get very long and gangly.
A TWH even a cross would have a tendency to gait, moving each leg on r/l side laterally, like a pacing horse.
Some don't be a QH would have a more rounded butt, even a half QH.

Training wise I have been told they are like arabs on crack. they love treats, do well with lots of praise.
they can be a sensitive horse, but are willing to do ANYTHING for their people.
He is a looker!!!
