Any guesses on this one? It's not a Golden Laced Wyandotte, we have some of those. Thanks!
what hens and roosters do you have?
It was the mystery chick from McMurray, so not one that we hatched.
I'm guessing either leghorn or dutch bantam
When it gets a little older, you will have to clip its wings because both breeds are very flighty and are known to roost in trees. I have a dutch bantam and she flew over my 8 foot tall coop.
what a cute little thing!
Thanks, yeah he/she is adorable. I appreciate the tips too. I love getting the mystery chicks!
Not sure of the breed, but I do believe it's something black breasted red, and a pullet.
The only bird that Murray McMurray sells that seems to fit its appearance (leg color, feather color and pattern, etc.) is a Black Breasted Red Game pullet.
Thanks, I sure hope it's a pullet.
I had one that looked like that. When it was a chick it was all black with a light reddish head. feathered out the same and ended up being what looked like a black sex link.
https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/515958/what-is-thew-difference-between-these-two-hens I don't know how to paste a picture. But here's a link to a thread with a picture of a black star. I think that's what you have.
