Any Hatching buddies out there? set 6/20 tonite with more coming!!!!

Ouch Tigercreek, sorry about the bummy australorp eggs. Do you think the post office was really rough with them? I know my post office plays kickball with my egg packages, every single egg in the last few shipments have had detached aircells regardless of packing methods (no broken ones thank goodness). It has reduced my hatch rates by a lot.

I just did a final candle and precautionary sniff test last night on my 16 eggs. Nearly all the eggs were filled up some I couldn't see much movement because of chicks, but I am excited! I am sitting on my hands now, and will take them off the turner tonight!

Post Office was not kind, but the packing was not good either. 11 of the 36 were broken. I received a shipment of SPRocks from over twice as far away, and none of the 36 of those were broken. All are developing except 8!! Excellent packing! I learned how to pack eggs when I opened that box!! I just took mine out of the turner and put them into egg cartons. Hope all goes well for us both!! .......stan

Just a heads up with shipped eggs. My Post Master told me the ONLY boxes that come damaged are the ones marked fragile. I've started requesting that my shipments not be marked in any way. There are a few that still marked the boxes and I had broken eggs. The boxes not marked were perfect. Some people at the Post Office must not like eggs or poultry.
I just thought I'd share what I learned.

I've got my first eggs that I had shipped in lockdown now for a Friday hatch, They were not labeled as fragile, and only one had a leak, but it wasn't broken. I sealed it with candle wax and tried to set it, but it didn't work.
Anyway, I paid for 12, got 14, and 8 made it to lockdown. I'm satisfied with those results.
I'll always from now on out request no fragile markings on the box.

Exciting. Good luck. I have some due today and tomorrow but the ones I set for the hatch along are due to hatch Tuesday. I've been having hatch issues so hopefully the new incubator helps.

I have 2 home eggs that might make it and 3 lavendars left....on the lavendars the air cells are huge and I can't see any movement at all....maybe because the green eggs are a little harder to see through....none of my mixed eggs made it I think the po totally scrambled all of them. And the additional home eggs I added have no development at all not even veining......I am thinking my roo is not doing his job very well ugghhhh because the home eggs are from several different hens. The kids are totally disappointed and to tell the truth I am too....

I even started looking online for another incubator....this lg just stinks I think that is my problem. I don't have 160.00 to spend on a new one but I guess we are gonna start saving. If we can't hatch any, certainly can't afford to buy chicks around here (astronomical). Looked online at chicks omg
