Any Home Bakers Here?

Well, I certainly wouldn't call it baking... but I'm going to be making quite a few batches of fudge for the holiday. It's the worlds easiest recipe but it's cheating pretty bad. I'll be glad to share if anyone is interested.

Mmm fudge! I usually make choklit, pb and rocky road. Mama used to make fudge with velveeta... i was actually pretty good. Not quite as sweet as reg fudge but ok.

I just made it like my veggie beef soup but used deer broth and deer meat was the only difference. I use whatever veggies i have... this time was frozen limas, silver queen corn, squash, zucchini... then taters, carrots and onion. Oh and a quart of canned maters. I put a few bay leafs in there too. Let it cook most of the day and soup is on. I did brown then pressure cook the deer before i added it to the pot.

Our son didnt realize it was deer til mama said somethin bout how she knew i was tryin kill her fedin her deer. She has a thing about the different meats..... deer, squirrel and rabbit. She wouldnt eat any of our first batch of meat birds so i kept a bag of frozen chicken fingers in the freezer to cook for her. Lol. She finally decided to eat our chickens the fall bunch we did. And ate turkey at thanksgivin. She still wont eat rabbit or squirrel... maybe one day. I dunno. But i will just continue to cook her a meat she will eat when we have things she wont. We live on the same property different home and i cook the meals most of the time for us all.

It's funny how some folks can love a meal and then go nuts when they find out what's in it. DW needed to take a pot luck dish to work many years ago and forgot about it until the night before. All I had that could thaw quickly was gator tenderloin so I made a gator lemon piccata and buttered pasta for her to take in. Everyone wanted the recipe and they freaked out when they found out it was gator not chicken.

Hahahahahha! Gator is a wonderful meat! Bison is too but man i surely do not like payin for it. There is a lady at the farmers market that sells it and i cringe every time i buy some and dont do it often. But gah it is so good. When we lived in ky an amish store sold elk and we loved that too.

And how about the DEER BROTH? When you put the deer meat in
the pressure you got the broth? I am checking because I have DEER
MEAT in my freezer and need recipes. Thanks Aria
