Any Home Bakers Here?

A very sweet lady gave me a gift of Italian Pizzelle cookies, had never heard of them, they are too pretty to eat, but smell awesome.
Eat them!

Sorry folks... Didn't get the wheat ground yet. Too many holiday projects, plus dinner with a friday deadline. Hopefully, I'll get it done tomorrow.

They're awesome! But, fair warning, they are typically flavored with anise so they taste like black licorice. That startles a lot of people.

@Auroradream26 Please share I have a local Wisconsin Dakota county cookbook #4 from 1961 love the recipes The recipe in it is pretty good

Sugar Cookies
1/2 cup spry or lard
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 eggs
2 c flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp lemon flavor
1 cup sugar
3 tsp milk
1 tsp baking powder

drop from tsp onto greased cookie sheet.
flatten cookie with a tumbler covered with a damp cloth. Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 375 degrees -- Mrs. Math Thurmes, Hampton, Minn.

Thanks for sharing! Here's mine, from my grandma's farm friend/neighbor. Fair warning, it makes a lot!

Mrs Prough's Sugar Cookies

6 cups flour
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp baking soda
4 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup milk

Cream together butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and milk. In a seperate bowl, sift together all dry ingredients. Combine wet and dry and mix well. Roll out on floured surface, adding additional flour if needed. Use cookie cutters to cut out cookies and arrange on cookie sheet. Coat with egg whites and Sprinkles if desired. Bake at 350° 9-11 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges. Decorate with icing immediately after pulling from the oven.

Pizzelles are awesome....but only the vanilla flavored. I can't STAND anise! Every time I see pizzelles, I get excited but have to have someone try them first lol.
 
And just because its in front of me, here's our peanut butter cookie recipe (courtesy of my aunt Cindy)

1 cup butter
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder

Cream butter, peanut butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Soft together dry ingredients and blend into creamed mixture. Bake at 375° for 10-15 minutes.
