Any Home Bakers Here?

I spent 9-10 years living overseas and fell in love with the metric system, but I hate converting. :barnie Live in one or the other.
I know! I have a couple of recipes that has some ingredients in metric and some in cups. It drives me crazy!

I work @ a camp for people with disabilities. In the winter the facility is rented. This weekend is a quilting group and a francophone scout troop. A bit of a challenge as one person goes into anaphylactic shock just by the smell of garlic. You don't realize how often garlic is used in cooking until you can't use it.

No garlic would be a challenge. My former BIL was allergic to onion, that was a hard one to work around too.

I have a friend in England who used an actual cup and spoon for measuring. She couldn't figure out why nothing she was making turned out. She had no idea that they were actual specific units of measurement. Needless to say, I knew what to send her for Christmas that year.

That is a great story!
Someone on a cooking show said to use the same set of measuring spoons or cups for a recipe too. Some sets are off apparently and you can mess up the ratios if, for example the cup from one set is a bit too big and the half cup from another set is a bit too small
