Any Home Bakers Here?

I used to use canned mushrooms and discovered all the brands available here are from China. Copied your recipe to try next time we have cold days :)

Congratulations on your eggs....bet the pen layer uses the nest next time....I've had several lay first eggs in weird places. Guess they are surprised with their new accomplishment :)

To make mushroom soup from this, you add 8oz of mushrooms:

@ronott1 Thank you so much for the Cream of Soup!

I am trying to cook heart healthy and need a replacement for all the Cream of Mushroom/Celery/Chicken Soup in our favorite recipes. This sounds good too.
X2 :)

I haven't done any Valentine's Day baking this year, but here are a couple things from last year.

Thanks! You're right, the girl who laid her first egg in the pen is now using the nesting boxes. In fact, this morning I sat out there with them for a little while, and after she had eaten, she promptly marched into the coop and hunkered down in one of the nest boxes to do her duty!

Hello,

Two days ago I said I was making some derby cheese. Right now, it is in the cheese press at 50 pounds of pressure. It will be done being pressed at 6 o’clock my time. I then have to let it dry for two or five days, then I will wax it and age it for three months.

Then, my farmhouse cheddar that I made for my friend in Japan finished drying, so I waxed it and now it is aging for two weeks.

That’s all for now, I’m going to try making Monterey Jack soon.

Jared

Please drive carefully, Penny!

I'm trying a new recipe for a Valentine's Day treat - Pumpkin rolls (looks very similar to cinnamon rolls). I had made a streuseled sweet potato recipe the other day, using one of the pumpkins we grew in the garden last year. It was a big pumpkin, so there was some left over. I decided to use the extras in this pumpkin roll recipe. The dough is rising right now, then I will have to roll the dough out, put the filling on, roll up, cut, and bake as rolls, then pour a glaze on top. I think Hubs is going to love them (if they turn out)! Must make sure there's some fresh coffee ready to have along with the rolls.
