That's similar to how I make it. I add a tbsp of finely minced onion and some dry mustard. Only use sharp/extra old cheese. It's one of my favourites.@wyoDreamer I don't know if this recipe will be exactly like the one you remember, but it's the one my mom always used when we were growing up.
Creamy Mac & Cheese
8 oz. elbow macaroni
2 Tab butter
1/4 Cup AP flour
2 Cups milk
1 Cup shredded cheddar cheese
8 oz. cubed processed cheese
1. In a large pot with boiling salted water, cook macaroni until al dente. Drain.
2. In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter. Whisk flour and stir vigorously. Add milk and cook until thick and bubbly (about 5-7 minutes). Add cheeses and stir until completely melted.
3. In a large bowl mix together the drained pasta and cheese sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
4. Pour into a greased 2 quart casserole dish. Bake in a pre-heated 350* oven for 30 minutes.
Starbucks VIA actually isn't instant. It's just micro ground coffee beans. Instant has a lot of additives. Believe it or not, most instants contain gluten.
We have GFS as a restaurant supplier here but no stores. When I worked concession in Ohio we used them as our supplier. They had a breaded cod tail that we always sold out of. Even when there was someone a few trailers up who sold fresh fish sandwiches.Nearest costco is at least 60 miles away. Wally world is only 12.... GFS is 90 miles away but worth the trip upon occasion.
I used to work @ Cracker barrel. Their biscuits are just self rising flour, shortening and buttermilk. Their dumplings are the same too.IMO drop biscuits are sticky, mixed with a fork and dropped by spoonfuls onto baking pan? Georgia gals make "cat head" biscuits - large hand shaped - and awesome![]()
For some weird reason that I can't figure out, my mom gave my dad a bread maker for Christmas one year. Every time they had company my dad would start a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread when they arrived. He'd send them home with it at the end of the evening. I always think of him when I eat it now. Have no idea what the recipe was though. My sister took all of the bread machine cook books even though she doesn't have a bread maker.Do you have a good recipe for cinnamon raisin bread?
