That is good news! The yard sale went ok yesterday. We didn't have a lot of people but the baked goods were popular. My daughter had a lot of fun collecting money for them. I think we made $20 just on the goodies! They were 50 cents a baggie. Each bag either had 2 cookies, 1 big brownie, 1 blueberry muffin or 1 cinnamon roll![]()
X2That is good news!
rjohns, I am sure you KNOW that rye flour is low in gluten.Well, the bread is on it's first rise. I ended up with 5 1/2 cups of whole white wheat flour and 1 cup of bread flour. Ran out of wheat and didn't feel like the mess to grind another cup. Besides we decided a little more gluten would lighten the crumb a bit. I also added 1 table spoon of molasses and two of local honey. Was toying with the idea of using sorghum instead of molasses as it was made just up the road from me.
I'll make the first loaf around 3 and put the rest in the fridge for another day.
I'm toying with the idea of using rye flour to do the finishing work with it... Any thoughts? I would have never dreamed of doing these kinds of crazy things before meeting up with you folks...
