How many pies do you think I could get out of this one that was hiding among the hollyhocks that took over the garden?

Maybe one or two.

When I was 11, my oldest brother bought a humongous pumpkin. He carved it, and put my 7-yr-old brother inside to scare the heck out of people. :D
The eyes made a pie, plus. I had never heard of a pie pumpkin until I got married. We always used whatever.

Depends on the kind of pumpkin. One of the best pies I ever had came from a field pumpkin that was sold as a jack-o-lantern pumpkin.
