Using a sharp knife, the beans are split and the seeds are removed with the tip of a knife.

The seeds are very good in vanilla ice cream. Usually you poach the beans in hot milk for a while first.

You can take a bean and put it in your sugar jar too for vanilla-y sugar.

Mines the opposite. It smells awful when you use it too. I prefer my Stand Mixer.

In our old house, I had room to leave my stand mixer out and plugged in. It was very convenient. There's just no room for that at this little house so it's a lot of effort to get out, find an open outlet, then stow it all away when done. I'm mixing a lot more stuff up by hand now! Fewer dishes to wash too

I don't like my current hand mixer either Ron. Darn things takes off like a jet on LOW and spits stuff everywhere. I need one with about 1/2 the kick
Mine has gotten like that. I worry about using it.
:lau My m-i-l gave me an old stand mixer “but I think it was smoking when I used it last.” Sure enough, that thing was smoking like a chimney!

You sound perfectly normal to me BC!
(Not sure what that says about me )

It's "gifts" like that that always make me wonder if there's a message behind them :p

Just leave it set up in the middle of the table with an extension cord plugged in.
