Any Home Bakers Here?

I wanted an excuse to use the KA, so I asked Duckling what we should make. “Vanilla cake!!” She just wants to use my sprinkles.
Remembering I’m out of eggs, I said we had to make chocolate.
So, I’m making a Whacky/Screwball/whatever you know it as cake today. If anyone needs the recipe, let me know.

Ok Madame Slavedriver...the cookies are all baked and cooling. Next step, frosting (that's the hard part)!

DMC, give me your opinion on these colors. I have 9 colors: pink, red, green, teal, copper, navy, brown and purple (and of course, white). I've baked these 4 shapes: hearts, bonnets, cowboy hats, dinosaurs. I don't want to mess with all those colors, just want a max of 6 colors. Give me your experienced expertise on which colors should go on which cookies!

Thank you for reminding me about coloring the frosting. We chose pink. However, someone got their fingers into the bowl before I frosted the cake.

Sprinkles will be added in a few hours when Duckling wakes.

I hope the sprinkles stick at that time. I have found that the frosting will crust over a little bit and sprinkles will fall off.

Yeah, I thought of that belatedly. I was thinking of making more frosting if it makes her happy. Maybe blue this time.

I make a cooked whipped buttercream that doesn’t crust.
