Any Home Bakers Here?

I still have one big, old machine in the closet. The kind with the table, and drawers. I didn’t realize that they were so precious, so I gave two away years ago. Moving around so much, my mother only had a Singer. It’s yellow, and still gets used.

Depends on the brand and age Ma told me forever ago the death of them is not be oiled on a regular basis I took on a vintage Kenmore that I was told could not run got it home opened it found someone had put gear oil in it... I soaked it in wd-40 after cleaning as much gear oil as possible took 3 coats of wd-40 to clean... Then I cleaned it with cloths added a bit of sewing oil plugged it in it hummed to life I donated the machine to 4 - h girls

I have my mom's old Kenmore. I remember her making all our halloween costumes for us on it when we were kids. I never really sewed before she gave it to me a couple years ago. Now I'm constantly making chicken/turkey saddles and Mom and I made a quilt for my dad. I started making quilt squares out of scrap fabric once I started making saddles. Once I have enough, I'll be theorist together a nice big quilt my own :)

I remember your Dad's quilt...you made it as a surprise for him (Christmas maybe?). It sure turned out well!

Thanks :) And yes, it was Christmas a little over a year ago. He keeps it in the living room, folded up under the coffee table so he can just pull it out and wrap up in it whenever.

Nice to be able to snuggle to also .... made ravioli this afternoon with the Son
I need to figure out what to bake this weekend! Loaf bread for sure.
