Speaking of roses, I wanted to share something that I just remembered.
A couple of years ago, an ancestor of mine in Austria in 1899, he was a rose grafter as a hobbyist. He was also a Master Gardener at the time. He left all his secrets about how he grafted roses and his gardening secrets in an article. I was fortunate enough to find the article on a family history website, and test his Secrets. They worked!
I've been tossing around the idea of using his old grafting technique to graft some white roses for my mother and father for their anniversary. I'm sure they will love it.
Anyway, today I am baking those monster cookies I mentioned a while ago, and I'm tossing around the idea of whether I should make bread or not.
Valentine's Day has always been hard for me, mainly due to my depression issues associated with my disability, which lead to feelings of loneliness. It happens every year. I'm just going to be baking today to soothe a little bit.
One thing I did do today on Valentine's Day, is I sent my best friend a valentine. I just sent her the lyrics to the song 500 Miles by The Proclaimers. This is basically what the Valentine said:
"When I wake up, well, I know I'm going to be, I'm going to be the man who wakes up next to you. When I go out, well, I know I'm going to be, I'm going to be the man who goes along with you. If I get drunk, well, I know I'm going to be, I'm going to be the man who gets drunk next to you. And if I heaver, well, I'm know I'm going to be, I'm going to be the man whose heavering to you.
But I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more, just to be the man who walked a thousand miles the fall down at your door!"
