@Aria you're right. I hope I get a good shot this time. Last season, I hit the back leg of the deer on accident. The scope was slightly out of alignment. Taking care of that this season.

It was a nice 2 by 3 Buck last season. I remember I posted a picture of it and I asked how to cook it as a joke.

for those of you that weren't on the thread last year, here's a picture of last season.

I wish your husband good luck on his deer hunt when it comes around. Do you have Whitetail or mule deer where you're at? I have mostly mule deer. I actually ran into one quite literally while I was quail hunting. It spooked both of us!

Jared, my husband got his White tail deer last year with a bow..when he was bow hunting....wounded it...followed as much as he could...never located it. He does both Bow and I think it's
a 30 ought 6 ...something sounds like that. A large gun. Aria

Has anyone heard of the new Platinum Instant Sourdough Yeast...
maker Red Star Yeast? Contents: cultured Rye Flour, Rye, Starter
culture (Lactobacillus) yeast, soy flour, Ascorbic Acid, Sorbitan
Monosterate, Wheat Flour, Enzymes..contains soy and wheat and
replaces Sourdough Starter. Society, marketers are always adding and making changes ( TO SELL OF COURSE)....I think some of the original, changes are fine...but some of the original
are fine. I experienced a new challenge in learning the Sourdough Baking....and will continue to KEEP RON's SOURDOUGH STARTER alive and well. Nothing will replace this.
I am sure others will welcome the new yeast. ME, NO THANKS.

I fed the sourdough a while ago, and I’m about ready to start the pumpkin bread. I’m low on honey, but I think I’m okay.

If you hate following links as much as I do, here’s the recipe to copy/paste.

Sourdough Pumpkin Bread

INGREDIENTS:
• 1 1/3 cups fresh sourdough starter
• 1 cup pumpkin puree
• 2/3 cup milk
• 2 2/3 cups flour
• 1/2 cup melted butter
• 1/2 cup honey, warmed to a pourable consistency
• 1 jumbo egg
• 2/3 tsp. salt
• 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
• 3/4 tsp. baking soda
• 3/4 Tbsp. baking powder
INSTRUCTIONS:
0. In a large bowl, beat together sourdough starter, pumpkin, milk, and flour. Cover and ferment in a warm place for 12-24 hours.
0. Preheat oven to 325°F.
0. When ready to bake, beat together melted butter, egg, and honey in a small bowl.
0. In a separate small bowl, whisk together salt, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, and baking powder.
0. Mix butter mixture into sourdough batter until mostly combined. Sprinkle dry ingredients over the dough and stir in until just combined.
0. Pour into buttered large loaf pan. Bake 60 minutes
0. Cool completely before slicing.

I hadn’t heard of it, but sd is so easy to start, I’m not sure about buying a starter.
