Any Home Bakers Here?

Make it like fried chicken. Or, inject it with hot sauce as you roast it.

I can try that, but I've got to render the fat out of the goose breast first. Goose has a very high fat content.

On the other hand, You just gave me a great idea. Goose and dumplings!

I need to bring something for the office "Holiday Lunch" on Friday. Offic is supplying beef and chicken for tacos. All the add-on's for tacos are already signed up for, so any ideas for a side dish I could make? Someone already signed up for salsa & chips, taco dip and re-fried beans.
Guacamole!

Last night I decided I needed to rebake one of my cookies, the Maple Pecan Swirls. I thought they tasted funny. So I got up and mixed them up again. A double batch again because I was certain something was missing. After mixing, rolling, spreading, slicing, I baked the first batch and ... nothing funny about it at all. Tastes just like the ones I made before!!! :rant Now I have 26 dozen of this one cookie and I don't even really like it!!! :th I liked it last year and the year before.

I left most of them plain for him (and I get allllll the decorated ones) :D

Wait a minute...what about your mom? I'd ask if she knows you're stealing cookies from her, but you'd probably call and tell her

Maybe a change in one of the ingredients? Same brands? Maybe the nuts?

I think it's just me. I used to like them, but now I don't. I tend to buy the same brands. I think the maple syrup is a different one, but both are pure and organic. I just don't get it. It's not a very sweet cookie to begin with, but it just seems blah to me this year. Oh well. Off the list for next year.
