Actually now you mention it I've never remembered to buy the coconut Essence and just make it without. Still yummy :)

And then I got sidetracked anyway because I had some cream was closer to it's expiry date than the sour cream so I decided to try this cream cake recipe my uncle gave me when I went looking for old family recipes. So far it looks great, has risen beautifully and that was in a pretty large cake tin, would be interesting to do it in a smaller, higher one.

Will have to wait for it to cool and give it the taste test. Funny recipe, no butter in it,basically just eggs and cream, vanilla and flour.

If you wouldn't mind sharing the family recipe, it would be nice to have it. Your cake looks delicious!

I like the chit chat om this thread as much as the recipes and good ideas.
When my son and husband did the cub scout through boy scout years, they got very adept at the dutch oven.
My husband still likes to cook country ribs in it. It makes the best ever BBQ and pork beans.
..and they would make dump cakes that were so good.

I miss my boy.

gack! I am a broken record,

It's ok Eggsy, you're allowed to miss him. Actually, I think you are required to miss him. It goes along with being a good mom.
