Any Home Bakers Here?

I might catch some grief over this, but here goes. On occasion, when I already have a surplus of bread to eat, I just pour the discard, as is, into my cast iron skillet, making a large "flat bread" and feed it to the chickens. They love it! It's much too sour for eating that way for me, but the girls fight over every little crumb. At least that way I don't feel I'm wasting it. Oh, and my dogs will eat it that way too, but they prefer the crumpets:)
It is fine to give to the chickens!

Follow the 20 minute rule with treats-- give them what they will eat in 20 minutes
 
Been a busy morning here tending to peeps had to much hardware cloth and did not bend the cuts right .. Fixed that put a 125 red bulb on the peeps new heating pad over the little wire u
they are warm and happy have food, water older led the young to food .. Still need to clean the paper under them :thmaking English muffins here this morning I actually use a bit of cornmeal in them like the texture they make that way

Coleen, I have the same luck with Sourdough in loaf pans. I do NOT
know anyone except Ron.....that has success with Sourdough. Does your
loaf have "large holes" and hard crust and chewy? Tell us more. Aria
Here is the one I made today looks like this one might have a bubble cause the top is really high in the middle I'll take another picture when I cut it open

It looks good!

The upraised center is more likely due to shaping
 
Looks great as Sandwich bread @Colleen1039 Finished the sourdough English muffins
I did 6 cups ap 1 cup sourdough 2 pkg yeast 3 cups hot water 15 English muffins .. I have these rounds have no idea why they were bought but use them to cut the muffin right size
I brown them on out cast iron griddle part of the oven then bake them 400 12 minutes we have convection oven I love this is them done
