I only discovered asparagus 16 years ago. It was love at first bite, but I just don’t think to buy it.

If you had started an asparagus patch back then, you would not need to buy it now. There is no comparison between fresh out of the garden asparagus and store bought asparagus. The fresh stuff is unbelievably that much better.

Nope, this asparagus bed is well over 20 years old and comes back every year because I don't over harvest it and make sure to let it go to seed. Many of the current plants are hybrids that have come up from the seeds.

We love garlic so I added an extra minced clove

I have made that one a couple of times and it is so good!

I’ve been tempted to grate a potato into regular white bread and see how it goes.

I use potato starch sometimes in sourdough

I liked grating an orange rind and adding cranberries better.
