Any Home Bakers Here?

Today, my son had a dentist appointment two towns over (30min drive), so we went to that, he did great! Now we are home and I just popped the chocolate khalua cheesecake in the oven. Mmmm. Going to be hard not to sample it before thanksgiving

Phil, Glad you got some yummy homemade peanut brittle!

@Alice28 it's all your fault there are 2 big loaves of pumpkin bread in my oven right now. Ever since you mentioned it the other day, I haven't been able to get it out of my head. Even with my rice/grits mix-up this morning, I think I managed to make it right

You can defrost the turkey by letting is sit in the sink with water (leave the bird in the wrapping and change out the water every so often). That should do it by Thurs. morning. I don't know about ham. Guess it all partly depends on how large it is.

Lol man i was told last week my parents werent coming this week now last minute they might. You think i have enough time to dethaw the turkey and ham?
You would have to do a combination of out of the fridge thawing--Twelve hours on the counter and then in the fridge over night and then back onto the counter tomorrow. The turkey should be thawed by then and can go back into the fridge until it is time to roast it. If Brining, do that tomorrow night.

It takes 4 to 5 days in the fridge to thaw a turkey.
