You know...I didn't even realize that, but I've never used it! I use salted butter...I imagine if you didn't use salted butter that would make a difference. You could probably safely add a tsp of salt!I do not see salt in the recipe. Do you sneak some in? I do that all the time! I would put a pinch of salt into the frosting too.

I edited the recipe to show salted butter. Honestly my MIL made this with shortening and it always tasted good...but I no longer use shortening for anything!
